Changing Your Password

Update your BrandDrive password regularly to maintain account security and protect your business data.

Why Change Your Password?

Regular password changes help:

  • Protect against unauthorized access
  • Maintain account security
  • Comply with security best practices
  • Recover from potential security breaches

Change your password immediately if you suspect it’s been compromised.

How to Change Your Password

While Logged In

  1. Click on your profile icon in the top right corner
  2. Select “Account Settings” or “Profile”
  3. Click on “Security” or “Password” tab
  4. Enter your current password
  5. Enter your new password
  6. Confirm new password by entering it again
  7. Click “Change Password” or “Update”

You’ll see a confirmation message when the change is successful.

Password Requirements

Your new password must meet these requirements:

  • Minimum 8 characters long
  • Include at least one letter (A-Z)
  • Include at least one number (0-9)
  • Recommended: Include special characters (@, #, $, etc.)
  • Cannot be the same as your last 3 passwords

Strong password example: MyBusiness2024!

Creating a Strong Password

Follow these tips for a secure password:

  • Use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers and special characters
  • Avoid common words or phrases
  • Don’t use personal information (birthdate, name)
  • Don’t reuse passwords from other accounts
  • Make it at least 12 characters for better security

Avoid:

  • password123
  • 12345678
  • yourbusinessname
  • admin

Forgot Your Password?

If you can’t remember your current password:

  1. Go to the login page
  2. Click “Forgot Password?”
  3. Enter your registered email address
  4. Click “Send Reset Link”
  5. Check your email inbox
  6. Click the reset link in the email
  7. Enter your new password
  8. Confirm new password
  9. Click “Reset Password”

The reset link expires after 24 hours for security.

Password Reset Email Issues

Didn’t receive the reset email?

  • Check your spam or junk folder
  • Verify you entered the correct email address
  • Wait a few minutes and try again
  • Contact [email protected] if issues persist

After Changing Your Password

After successfully changing your password:

  • You’ll remain logged in on your current device
  • Other devices will be logged out automatically
  • You’ll need to use the new password for future logins
  • Update saved passwords in your browser or password manager

Password Security Best Practices

Do:

  • Change your password every 3-6 months
  • Use a unique password for BrandDrive
  • Use a password manager to store passwords securely
  • Enable two-factor authentication for extra security
  • Log out when using shared or public computers

Don’t:

  • Share your password with anyone
  • Write passwords on paper or sticky notes
  • Use the same password across multiple accounts
  • Send passwords via email or text message
  • Save passwords on shared devices

Account Locked?

If you enter the wrong password multiple times, your account may be temporarily locked for security. Wait 15-30 minutes and try again, or use the “Forgot Password” option to reset.

Team Member Password Reset

If you’re an Owner or Admin and need to reset a team member’s password:

  1. Go to Settings > Team
  2. Click on the team member
  3. Select “Reset Password”
  4. They’ll receive a password reset email

You cannot see or change their password directly for security reasons.
