Configure essential business settings to ensure BrandDrive works perfectly for your operations and preferences.
Accessing Business Settings
Navigate to Settings > Business Settings or Settings > Preferences to manage your configuration options.
Currency Settings
Primary Currency
Select your main business currency from the dropdown (NGN, USD, GHS, KES, EUR, GBP, etc.).
All transactions, pricing, invoices, and reports use this currency by default.
Important: Changing currency affects only new transactions going forward. Historical data remains in the original currency.
Multi-Currency Support
If you serve international customers, enable multi-currency to:
- Display prices in customer’s local currency
- Accept payments in different currencies
- Track exchange rates automatically
Enable in Settings > Currency > Multi-Currency.
Regional Settings
Time Zone
Set your business operating time zone. This ensures:
- Accurate timestamps on all transactions
- Correct scheduling for reports and tasks
- Proper date/time display
- Accurate sales timing analytics
Select your city or closest major city from the time zone list.
Date Format
Choose how dates appear throughout BrandDrive:
- DD/MM/YYYY – Day first (e.g., 25/12/2024)
- MM/DD/YYYY – Month first (e.g., 12/25/2024)
- YYYY-MM-DD – Year first (e.g., 2024-12-25)
Number Format
Select number and currency formatting:
- 1,234.56 – Comma as thousand separator, period as decimal
- 1.234,56 – Period as thousand separator, comma as decimal
- 1 234,56 – Space as thousand separator, comma as decimal
Choose the format standard in your region.
Fiscal Year Settings
Fiscal Year Start Date
Set when your business fiscal year begins. Most businesses use:
- January 1 – Calendar year (default)
- April 1 – Common in some countries
- July 1 – Mid-year fiscal cycle
- Custom date – Specific to your business
Fiscal year setting affects:
- Annual financial reports
- Year-end closing
- Tax period calculations
Accounting Period
Choose your accounting period:
- Monthly
- Quarterly
- Annually
This determines how often BrandDrive generates period-end reports.
Language Preferences
Interface Language
Select your preferred language for the BrandDrive interface:
- English
- French
- Portuguese
- Spanish
- Other supported languages
This changes menu labels, buttons, and system messages.
Invoice Language
Choose default language for invoices and customer-facing documents. Can be different from interface language if you serve international customers.
Measurement Units
Weight Units
Select default weight measurement:
- Kilograms (kg)
- Grams (g)
- Pounds (lb)
- Ounces (oz)
Volume Units
Choose volume measurement:
- Liters (l)
- Milliliters (ml)
- Gallons
- Fluid ounces
Used for products sold by weight or volume.
Business Hours
Set standard operating hours:
- Enable “Set Business Hours”
- Configure hours for each day of the week
- Mark closed days (weekends, holidays)
- Set different hours for different locations (if applicable)
Business hours display on your online shop and help schedule automated tasks.
Notification Settings
Configure default notification preferences:
- Email notifications for sales, low stock, payments
- SMS alerts for important events
- In-app notifications
- Push notifications (mobile app)
Individual users can override these in their personal settings.
Default Settings
Default Tax Rate
Set the default tax rate applied to products (e.g., 7.5% VAT). Can be overridden per product.
Default Payment Terms
Standard payment terms for invoices:
- Due on receipt
- Net 7, 15, 30 days
- Custom terms
Default Invoice Template
Choose which invoice template to use by default.
Saving Your Settings
After making changes:
- Review all configurations
- Click “Save Settings” at the bottom
- Changes apply immediately

- Set currency and time zone correctly during initial setup
- Review regional settings to match your location
- Update fiscal year settings before your first year-end
- Configure business hours for customer transparency
- Keep settings consistent with your accounting practices
